Linking Manitobans with the Developing World

30yrs

The Marquis Project is a non-profit, charitable non-governmental organization dedicated to making our world better. With our partners in Canada and abroad we work for rural community development, youth literacy and entrepreneurship in developing countries.

Marquis was established in 1979 by development activists in and around Brandon, Manitoba. It has been sustained by the support and participation of individuals, families, congregations, schools and community organizations since then. What began as a small resource centre on world issues serving southwestern Manitoba is now a nationally recognized non-governmental organization.

We deliver educational programs to Manitobans, partner with African communities in development projects, and operate a successful fair trade store in downtown Brandon.

The contribution which Marquis makes to its own local area and to partner organizations overseas has been recognized through a number of provincial, regional and national awards.
